Mentoring is not only about giving advice or sharing knowledge. It is also about motivating and empowering the other person to resolve their own roadblocks and achieve their own goals, not by doing it for them, or expecting them to do it 'my way', but by understanding and respecting different ways of working.
Mentoring and Leadership are inherently linked. The most effective leaders tend to mentor others. They also build a legacy through stories and myths that inculcate values and unify people. And mentors tend to nurture leadership skills in their mentees. The skill that this program aims to highlight is ‘Sharing Personal Stories for Self-Awareness and Empathy’.
