Module Details
  1. What it means to be a Teacher: Understanding the role of a teacher and being able to craft their own vision for their role as a teacher
  2. Understanding our Learners: Understanding the psychology of learning and explore various theories that help to understand how learners learn
  3. Understanding the Curriculum & the Lesson: This module will focus on pedagogical sequencing and help plan the lesson keeping the focus on linking the learning objectives to the outcome
  4. Understanding Assessments: This module will focus on the importance of assessments – the why and how; inform about future teaching and learning through assessments
  5. Classroom Management: This module will focus on effective communication in the classroom, know and understand the learners social and emotional needs, and inclusive practices
  6. Professional Growth as a Teacher and Sustainability: This module is about a teachers’ road map of personal growth, developing a growth mind-set, learn from peers and share good models of practice
  7. Teaching in an International Context: This module is about the recent research in pedagogy and bringing in the best practices from different curriculum into the classroom
  8. Technology in Classrooms: Encompassing technology as a tool for effective learning in the blended teaching model will be the focus of this module

Understanding School based learning

Throughout the course, each assessment is based on a school-based project where participants will:

  • Know about the Plan, Do, Study, Act Cycle
  • Understand how to apply new learning and understanding to our own professional practice
  • Be able to successfully apply their learning from modules 1 – 8 to a school-based study.
Admission Process
  1. Register by logging in the online admission portal on B K Birla College Website: www.bkbirlacollegekalyan.com
  2. Select the option: Post Graduate Diploma in Global Education (PGDGE)
  3. Fill the registration form by clicking on admission -> online admission form -> new account creation
  4. After filling the basic details, make the payment of Rs. 500/- through credit card/ debit card/ net banking for the prospectus and admission form. Student will receive User ID and Password on his/her registered mobile number immediately
  5. With the same User ID and Password, fill the online application form and have access to view prospectus online in PDF format
  6. Fill the detailed application form and upload graduation certificate/ final year marksheet and experience certificate
  7. Selected candidates will receive the offer letter and payment procedure
  8. Payment will be done in three parts:
    First Instalment of Rs. 40,000 during the admission and remaining 2 instalments of Rs. 17,500 each after every 2 months
  9. Fee Receipt will be generated online which can be saved or printed for further reference by the candidate
Internship & Placement Details

Candidates will have to seek internships in schools close to their place of residence in their cities. ABEA will provide letters to the schools seeking internships. Candidates will have to work with the schools to observe lessons, observe teachers, conduct lessons in line with the requirements of the PGDGE. At the end of the course, ABEA will conduct campus placement interviews for candidates to get placements in the schools.

Examination Pattern

The post graduate diploma is assessed through the assessment of individual modules. Participants will need to attain a pass grade for each module by the end of the course. If a participant fails any module, they may resubmit their end of module assessment once following feedback.
There will be assignments and end of term assessments.

Candidates will have to fill in an application form and attempt an aptitude test. Based on this the candidates will be selected. Incase of higher volumes of applications, candidates will also have to attend an interview to be admitted.
