The BEd. is no longer fit for purpose and the NEP sets out a new vision for teaching and teachers as well as for learning and learners.
The difference between what we have had and what we need is enormous and requires a paradigm shift in our understanding of teaching and learning. The difficulty for India is that it has built a system that has prepared and trained teachers and educational leaders who are neither equippedn or ready to deliver what the NEP is asking for.
This session will explore the participants’ understanding of what it means to be a teacher and a learner in the new, post-NEP paradigm. We will look at where we are now with respect to what the NEP has set out for 2040 and what we need to do to get from here to there.
