Lead the Way – A Conclave for Educators

On 19th January, 2019, Aditya Birla Education Academy in association Mpower and Birla Vidya Niketan as venue partner, hosted a highly successful conclave for Educators called Lead the Way, an innovative idea conceived by Mrs. Neerja Birla, Founder & Chairperson of Aditya Birla Education Trust. Over 52 Principals and Educators of prominent schools of Delhi-NCR graced the occasion and became participants of this programme. 

The special address was given by Mr. Vineet Joshi, Director General National Testing Agency.

The eminent speakers of the Panel Discussion on the topic ‘In the race towards e-learning , the teaching profession is losing its human touch’ were Ms. Mathu Shalini (Indian Strategist of Khan Academy), Ms. Suparna Sinha (Educator & M.D. of M/S innovate), Mr. Manit Jain (Co-Founder The Heritage Schools), Mrs. Sandhya Awasthi (Director DPS Society) & Mr. Ashok Pandey (Principal Ahlcon International School). The panel was given direction by Ms. Ameeta M. Wattal, Principal Springdales School.

Ms. Surabhi Goel, CEO, Aditya Birla Education Academy highlighted the importance of teacher development in the current education scenario and familiarized the Academy to the leaders present at the Conclave.

It was a motivating and learning experience which was followed by an insightful keynote address by Prof. Chintamani Mahapatra, Rector-1(Pro Vice Chancellor) JNU.

Ms. Parveen Shaikh, Psychologist and Head – Outreach & Collaborations, Mpower conducted a group discussion on Child & Adolescent Mental Health to bring to light the various forms of mental health concerns that are commonly faced by the youth.

The closing notes by Ms. Rita Wilson, Educationist, were real eye openers. She stated we should not be hurrying to cover the course; it should be rather to uncover the course.  The conclave ended with the Vote of thanks offered by Mr. Prodipta Hore, Program Director Aditya Birla Education Academy.
